Large-time behavior of solutions to a thermo-diffusion system with Smoluchowski interactions (Q2358725)

The paper deals with the problem of the thermo-diffusion of hot colloidal particles in porous media. In thermo-diffusion the motion of particles is due to gradients both of the chemical and the thermal fields. This coupling represents the main mathematical difficulty of the set of equations which model the problem. The reaction term in the equations for the populations is the classical Smoluchovski interaction production. The authors prove the existence of solutions for a suitable class of initial data, in the case of homogeneous boundary conditions. Moreover, the large time behavior of these solutions is determined.
