    For \(X\) a Banach space, a semi-normalized basis \((e_i)\) is said to be near-unconditional if for all \(\delta \in \,]0, 1]\) there exists a constant \(C(\delta)>0\) such that for each \(x = \sum a_i e_i\) with \(\sup |a_i| \leq 1\) and for all finite \(A \subseteq \{i \in \mathbb{N}: \;|a_i| \geq \delta\}\), one has \[ \|\sum_{i \in A} a_i e_i\| \leq C(\delta) \|x\|. \] It is well known that the Haar system is not an unconditional basis of \(L^1[0,1]\). In the present paper, it is shown that a sort of near-unconditionality for the Haar system in \(L^1[0,1]\) holds.
