Let \((G_n,K_n)_n\) be a sequence of couples, where \(G_n\) is a group, \(K_n\) is a subgroup of \(G_n.\) Moreover, assume that \(G_n \subseteq G_{n+1}\) and that \(K_n \subseteq K_{n+1}\), for every \(n.\) Then, one can consider the sequence \(K_n \backslash G_n / K_n\) of double-classes of \(K_n\) in \(G_n.\) The main contribution of the paper is Theorem 2.7, where, under further conditions, the author provides an explicit formula for the coefficients that appear in the product of double-classes of \(K_n\) in \(G_n.\) The formula looks rather complicated but it can be used to determine the structure coefficients for specific algebras. The authors shows how this result can be applied to several relevant examples such as the center of the symmetric group algebra and the Hecke algebra of the pair \((S_{2n},\mathcal B_n),\) the double-class algebra of the pair \((S_n \times S_{n-1}^{\mathrm{opp}} ,\mathrm{diag}(S_{n-1}))\) and the center of the hyperoctahedral group algebra.
