Spectral reduction of linear systems of the neutral type (Q2358836)

In the paper, linear autonomous differential-difference control systems of neutral type with several commensurable delays both in the state variables and control are considered. First, a spectral reduction problem is described using state-feedback methods. General forms of possible feedback controllers are proposed and discussed. Next, using auxiliary lemmas taken directly from linear matrix algebra necessary and sufficient conditions for solvability of spectral reduction are formulated and proved. Proposed conditions are presented using rank conditions for suitable defined matrices depending on a complex variable. At the end of the paper, many remarks, comments and numerical examples are given, which illustrate mathematical consideration. Finally, it should be pointed out, that similar spectral reduction problems have been recently discussed in the paper [\textit{A. Metel'skii}, Differ. Equ. 47, No. 11, 1642--1659 (2011; Zbl 1241.93014); translation from Differ. Uravn. 47, No. 11, 1621--1637 (2011)].
