A medium is studied that consists of an ideal non-heat-conducting gas. The radiation pressure and energy are taken into account. The author uses the Milne-Eddingtone model to describe the radiation gas dynamics of such a medium. Traditionally, equations arising in this model are solved by a splitting method, and splitting is done with respect to the energy equation. This approach has several disadvantages. First, the energy conservation law is not satisfied. Second, one needs to organize a laborious iteration process. Here, the author presents an approach based on splitting due to the heat radiation equation that helps to solve these problems. Such splitting allows to use analytical methods and to omit matrix inversion and collision-integral iterations. The temperature and radiation intensity in every computational cell may be found by large-scale parallelism. Difference schemes are described to solve problems of radiation gas dynamics in a multigroup kinetic approximation. To test the presented method, the model problem is solved by a compression of plane discrete-stratified gas layers.
