The authors analyze a gradient flow type model of tumor growth dynamics which can be viewed as a modification of the diffuse model proposed in [\textit{A. Hawkins-Daarud} et al., Int. J. Numer. Methods Biomed. Eng. 28, No. 1, 3--24 (2012; Zbl 1242.92030)]. The model is based on the Cahn-Hillard equations with transport and reaction terms which depend on the nutrient concentration. The idea is to treat vigorously mathematical properties of the model including well-posedness, regularity, asymptotic behavior, and to perform a sharp interface limit with the thickness of the interface tending to zero. The authors apply some refined results of gamma convergence (see [\textit{E. Sandier} and \textit{S. Serfaty}, Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 57, No. 12, 1627--1672 (2004; Zbl 1065.49011)]) using properly defined energy functionals.
