      The main result of the paper under review is the following (Theorem 1.4): If \(f: T\to T\) is a bijection of the standard \(n\)-dimensional torus \(T:=\frac{\mathbb R^n}{\mathbb Z^n}\), with \(n\geq 1\), such that \(f\) maps lines to lines (as sets), then \(f\) is affine (note that \(f\) is not assumed to be continuous). Here, an (affine) line in an affine manifold \(M\) is a curve in \(M\) that coincides with an affine line segment in affine charts.
