    In the paper, the author studies the exponential stability of solutions of the delay differential equation \[ \frac{d}{dt}y(t)=A(t)y(t)+B(t)y(t-\tau)+C(t)\frac{d}{dt}y(t-\tau),\;t\geq 0, \] where \(A(t)\), \(B(t)\), and \(C(t)\) are \(T\)-periodic continuous \(n\times n\) matrices, \(C(t)\not\equiv C\), \(\tau\) is the delay. The results generalize previous ones with \(C(t)\equiv 0\) and \(C(t)\equiv C\). The approach here is based on a suitable construction of the Lyapunov-KrasovskiÄ­ functional independent of \(C(t)\).
