This paper is focused on the solvability of the periodic two-term fractional boundary value problem \[ ^{c}D^{\alpha}u+q(t,u){^{c}D^{\beta}}u=f(t,u),\quad u(0)=u(T), \tag{1} \] where \(0<\beta<\alpha\leq1\), and \(^{c}D^{\alpha}\) stands for the Caputo fractional derivative of order \(\alpha>0\). Since in Equation (1) the coefficients are not necessarily constant, the Laplace transform method cannot be used. The author combines the Schauder fixed point theorem and the maximum principle for the Caputo derivatives to prove existence of at least one solution. Furthermore, considering \(q=0\) and assuming that \(f(t,x)\) is decreasing with respect to \(x\), a uniqueness criterion for (1) is given.
