The article under review concerns the geometry of the Grassmann manifold and the Gauss map. Revising and extending ideas and methods of the geometric calculus presented in [\textit{D. Hestenes} and \textit{G. Sobczyk}, Clifford algebra to geometric calculus. A unified language for mathematics and physics. Dordrecht: Kluwer (1984; Zbl 0541.53059)], the author develops original techniques for studying the Gauss map. Particularly, an original version of the Laplacian for multivector-valued functions on manifolds is proposed, analogues of the classical Ruh-Vilms theorem on the Gauss map of minimal submanifolds and Berstein type theorems are discussed, and specific features of the mean curvature vector field are analyzed.
