Reaching the minimum ideal in a finite semigroup (Q2362752)

In this paper, the depth parameters of a finite semigroup measuring the degree of how hard it is to produce an element in the minimum ideal with the consideration of generating sets satisfying some minimality conditions have been introduced. The author estimates such parameters for some families of finite semigroups and he obtains an upper bound for wreath products and direct products of two finite (transformation) monoids. The results proved here are powerful and improve some existing theorems in this field. The paper contains a resourceful and current reference list at the end.
