The authors consider the integral equation \[ x(t)=f_1\big(t,x(t)\big)+\frac{f_2\big(t,x(t)\big)}{\Gamma(\alpha)}\int_a^{t}\frac{g'(\tau)k\big(\tau,x(\tau)\big)}{\big(g(t)-g(\tau)\big)^{1-\alpha}}\;d\tau\text{, }\,t\in[a,T], \] where \(\alpha\in(0,1)\) and \(0\leq a<T\). Here the functions \(k\), \(g\), and \(f_i\), for \(i=1,2\), are real-valued. By writing the integral equation as they have, namely including the factor \[ \frac{g'(\tau)}{\big(g(t)-g(\tau)\big)^{1-\alpha}}, \] the authors are able to treat a wide variety of fractional integral-type problems at once. In particular, depending upon the choice of the function \(g\), the authors can handle Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals, Hadamard fractional integrals, and Erdélyi-Kober fractional integrals. Thus, the results are rather broad, in this sense. The authors consider existence results for this problem, and several helpful examples are provided. All in all, the paper is clearly written and very easy to follow. Researchers interested in the fractional calculus and its application to integral equations should find this paper to be of interest.
