A property of semigroups on metric spaces (Q2365289)

In this short note, the author gives a topological proof of the following result. Let \(X\) be a metrizable space and \(S\) a semigroup acting over \(X\) such that for every \(s \in S\) the action is continuous, \(S\) is an open subsemigroup of a first countable Baire group \(G\) and the neutral element of \(G\) belongs to the closure of \(S\) in \(G\). Then the set of all \(x \in X\) such that the map \(s \to s.x\) is continuous is closed in \(X\).
