Let \(A\) be a noncommutative Noetherian graded algebra over a field \(k\). In analogy with the residue complex in the commutative theory the author introduces the notion of a strong residue complex over \(A\), which is a refinement of the concept of a balanced dualizing complex introduced by the author [in J. Algebra 153, No. 1, 41-84 (1992; Zbl 0790.18005)]. If it exists, the strong residue complex of \(A\) is shown to be unique up to isomorphisms of complexes of graded bimodules, and therefore an invariant of \(A\). The author proves existence of a strong residue complex in the following cases: (i) \(A\) is finite over its center. (ii) \(A\) is a twisted homogeneous coordinate ring as defined by \textit{M. Artin, M. Van den Bergh} [J. Algebra 133, No. 2, 249-271 (1990; Zbl 0717.14001)]. (iii) \(A\) is a three-dimensional Sklyanin algebra.
