[This paper is a companion to a previous paper of the author, Soc. Choice Welfare 10, No. 2, 107-126 (1993; Zbl 0781.90008).] This paper investigates the Arrow-consistency or -- inconsistency of parametric domains of preference profiles, where individuals' orderings are represented by utilities which are smooth functions of both the social altenative and the individuals' parameter vectors. Given economic assumptions such as monotonicity, and subject to regularity conditions, if each individual's parameter vector can vary in an open subset of an Euclidean space of dimension 3 or higher, then the resulting domain of preference profiles is Arrow-inconsistent.
