The authors apply the algorithm developed by \textit{J. Mika} and \textit{A. Palczewski} [Arch. Mech. 35, 395-408 (1983; Zbl 0536.34035)] to a particular system of second order differential equations. Such a system is closely related to the discretized version of the telegraph equation.
