Generalized varieties (Q2366144)

Generalizing the concept of a variety of algebras to the concept of a variety of relational systems one has to deal with the problem how to define homomorphisms. In this paper, the author uses the rather strong condition \(r^ A (a_ 1, \dots, a_ n)\) iff \(r^ B (\varphi (a_ 1), \dots, \varphi (a_ n))\) for a \(*\)-homomorphism \(\varphi : A \to B\) of a structure \(A\) into a structure \(B\). Then appropriate definitions for \(*\)- implications and \(*\)-varieties are presented. It is demonstrated that many structure theorems have an analogue counterpart in this approach.
