Graf-type theorem for Laguerre and Legendre functions (Q2366669)

Graf type theorems are considered for Laguerre and Legendre functions. The idea is to obtain series that reduce to the Graf theorem for Bessel functions under various parameter limits, and, to use the series to generate recurrence relations. The authors determine such a generalized series and determine interesting recurrence relations for the Laguerre and Legendre functions. Extensions to Graf type theorems in several variables are noted.
