A multiple Walsh series \(S\) is said to converge in Pringsheim's sense if its rectangular partial sums converge. \(S\) is said to converge in the restricted sense if there is a number \(\gamma>0\) such that the partial sums of \(S\) (taken over rectangles \(R\) such that the ratio of the largest side of \(R\) to its smallest side does not exceed \(\gamma\)) converges. Clearly, a series which converges in Pringsheim's sense converges in the restricted sense, but not conversely. The author [Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Mat. 1988, No. 4(311), 34-36 (1988; Zbl 0654.42025)] had obtained results on absolute convergence of square partial sums of multiple Walsh-Fourier series using a \(1-1\) measure-preserving map \(\varphi\) from the dyadic group \(G\) to the \(n\)- fold product \(G^ n\). For the one-dimensional case, \textit{V. A. Skvortsov} [Mat. Zametki 19, 179-186 (1986; Zbl 0329.42011)] had constructed a closed set of multiplicity \(E\subset G\) of measure zero and a Walsh series which converges to zero off \(E\) and diverges to \(+\infty\) on \(E\). In this paper, the author uses Skvortsov's construction to show that \(\varphi(E)\) is a set of uniqueness for multiple Walsh series which converge in Pringsheim's sense but is not a set of uniqueness for multiple Walsh series which converge in the restricted sense for any \(\gamma>1\).
