The Brown-Peterson cohomology of \(BSO(6)\) (Q2367091)

The author computes the Brown-Peterson cohomology of BSO(6), the classifying space of the classical group SO(6), \(\text{BP}^*(\text{BSO}(6))\). \(\text{BP}^*(\text{BSO}(6))\) is concentrated in even dimensions; this gives further evidence in favour of a conjecture of Kono and Yagita that \(\text{BP}^*(\text{BG})\) is concentrated in even dimensions when \(G\) is a compact Lie group. The author's computation involves an Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence which collapses at the \(E_{34}\)-term.
