The paper is mainly concerned with vanishing orders of germs of holomorphic and global meromorphic functions on a Moishezon space. For instance, let \(S\) be an integral (reduced and irreducible) Moishezon space, \(D\) a Cartier divisor, \(L(D)\) the linear system defined by \(D\), \({\mathcal O}_{S,\xi}\) the local ring of the structure sheaf at a point \(\xi\in S\), \({\mathfrak m}\) its maximal ideal, \(f\in L(dD)\setminus \{0\}\). For any \(\xi\in S\setminus \text{supp } D\) put \(\nu_{S,\xi}(f)= \sup(p\mid f\in{\mathfrak m}^ p)\) and \(\overline {\nu}_{S,\xi} (f)= \lim_{p\to\infty} \nu_{S,\xi} (f^ p)/p\). Then there exists \(a\in\mathbb{R}\) such that \(a\cdot d\geq \overline{\nu}_{S,\xi}(f)\) and \(a\) must be \(>0\) (with \(d\) the degree of \(f\)). This implies e.g., that a holomorphic function along a Moishezon subspace \(S\) of a complex space \(X\) (integral along \(S\)), vanishing with high order at a point, vanishes with high order along \(S\).
