The authors study the multipoint BVP (1) \(y^{(n)}=f(x,y,y',\dots,y^{(n-1)})\), \(y^{(i)}(a_{i+1})=A_{i+1}\), \(0\leq i\leq n-1\), where \(-\infty <a\leq a_ 1\leq a_ 2\leq\cdots\leq a_ n\leq b<\infty\) and \(f\) is supposed to be continuous at least in the interior of the domain of its definition. The authors show conditions which ensure the existence of the solutions of (1). For example the existence is proved provided \(f\) is sublinear in the variables \(y_ 0,\dots,y_{n-1}\) or provided \(f\) is linear in these variables with sufficiently small coefficients. The uniqueness is obtained under the Lipschitz condition with sufficiently small Lipschitz constants. Further, they show conditions which guarantee the convergence of a general class of iterative methods for problem (1). The linear convergence of the Picard method and the quadratic convergence of the Newton method are deduced from the general result. One example is shown.
