The authors consider a nonlinear nonautonomous system \[ dx_ i/dt=\sum^ n_{j=1}f_{ij}(t,x_ j),\;i=1,\ldots,n, \tag{1} \] where \(f_{ij}\in C([t_ 0,\infty) \times\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})\) and \(f_{ij}(t,0)=0\). With \(y=\text{col}(x_ 1,x_ 2,\dots,x_ m)\), \(1 \leq m \leq n\), \(z=\text{col} (x_{m+1},\ldots,x_ n)\) and \(x=\text{col}(x_ 1,\dots,x_ n)\), (1) may be written as \[ \begin{aligned} dy/dt & =\text{col} \left(\sum^ n_{j=1}f_{ij}(t,x_ j),\ldots,\sum^ n_{j=1}f_{mj}(t,x_ j ) \right),\\ dz/dt & =\text{col} \left(\sum^ n_{j=1}f_{m+1j}(t,x_ j),\ldots,\sum^ n_{j=1}f_{nj}(t,x_ j) \right).\end{aligned} \tag{2} \] If, for every solution \(x(t,t_ 0,x_ 0)\) of (2), there exists a constant \(B>0\) such that \(\| x_ 0 \| \leq Q\), where \(Q\) is an arbitrary positive number, implies that \(\| y(t,t_ 0,x_ 0) \| \leq B\) for \(t \geq t_ 0+T(Q)\), then (2) is called uniformly dissipative with respect to \(y\). The authors obtain various sufficient conditions under which (2) is uniformly dissipative with respect to \(y\).
