In the present paper a class of geometric topological algebras [the author, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 172, No. 2, 301-322 (1993; Zbl 0805.46047)] possessing the exponential exact sequence is singled out. It abstracts the motivating example of the algebra \(C^ \infty(X)\) on a suitable differentiable manifold \(X\). In this context, the author presents some geometric aspects of their theory by providing a topological free de Rham-Kähler complex [see also \textit{S. A. Selesnick}, Math. Z. 146, 53- 67 (1975; Zbl 0308.43008); Lect. Notes Math. 753, 700-713 (1979; Zbl 0454.46047)] for a self-adjoint soft (locally convex) algebra, via the corresponding Gel'fand sheaf on its spectrum, which exhibits analogous properties to those of the classical one. He also generalizes a computation of the Picard group of a commutative unital Banach algebra [\textit{O. Forster}, J.-ber. Deutsch. Math.-Verein. 76, 1-17 (1974; Zbl 0295.46076)] in the case of a Waelbroeck algebra. [For a topos-theoretic approach to formal differential geometry, where classical results are also treated, one may consult for instance, \textit{A. Kock}, Synthetic Differential Geometry, Lond. Math. Soc. LNS 51, Cambridge Univ. Press VIII (1981; Zbl 0466.51008)].
