Let \(M\) be an Einstein manifold and \(G\) a properly discontinuous, freely acting group of isometries of \(M\). Then \(M/G\) is also an Einstein manifold. The author studies this situation in the case where \(M\) is Kählerian, the quotient \(M/G\) is compact, and the Ricci curvature is nonnegative. In these cases \(M\) is compact and \(G\) is a finite group. The main objective is to characterize the candidates for \(G\). If \(M\) is a compact irreducible Kähler-Einstein manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature, then its holonomy group is either \(Sp(n)\), \(SU(n)\), or \(U(n)\). In the first case \(M\) is Hyperkählerian and \(G\) is a finite subgroup of \(SO(3)\). In the second case \(M\) is a Calabi-Yau manifold and \(G\) is either a two-element group or a product of two such groups (for more details we refer to the paper), and in the third case \(G\) is a two- element group generated by an antiholomorphic involution.
