For \(X\) a partially ordered set and \(R\) a commutative ring, let \(T=I^*(X, R)\) denote the weak incidence algebra (elements of \(T\) have finite support) of \(X\) over \(R\). If \(Z\) is a finite subset of \(X\), let \(M=Te_Z\), where \(e_Z(u,v)=1\) when \(u=v\in Z\) and \(e_Z(u,v)=0\) otherwise. The authors determine when \(M\), as a left \(T\)-module, is Artinian and, with a restriction on \(Z\), when \(M\) is Noetherian. They then apply their results to obtain right perfect rings which are not left perfect.
