Let \(X\) be a real Banach space, \(B\) a (nonempty) closed convex subset of \(X\) and \(T_i\) be selfmaps of \(B\), with \(T_i(B)\) bounded, \(i = 1, \dots, s\), \(s > 1\). In an effort to improve their earlier result [Nonlinear Funct.\ Anal.\ Appl. 10, No.~3, 387--401 (2005; Zbl 1101.47057)], the authors consider multistep Mann iterations for these maps and show that the sequence of iterates, under certain restrictions, converges to a unique common fixed point of the maps, provided that (i) the maps have a common fixed point, and (ii) the map \(T_1\) is strongly pseudocontractive. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the superiority of the Mann iterations considered in this paper over Ishikawa iterations.
