    The authors generalize the classical Polya's inequality comparing the relative volume of a Borel subset with its relative logarithmic capacity to subsets of any generic subspace of \({\mathbb C}^n\). They give new applications to the study of the global behaviour of two important classes of plurisubharmonic functions, namely, to the Lelong class of those with logarithmic singularities at infinity on \({\mathbb C}^n\) and to the Gergell class of those of bounded Monge-Ampère mass on a hyperconvex domain \(\Omega\subset\subset {\mathbb C}^n\).
