For a nonnegative regular summability matrix \(A=( a_{nk}) \), the authors investigate conditions under which the following statement (P) is true: for any given number \(\alpha\in[0,1] \) there exists a sequence \(x=( x_{k}) \) consisting of \(0\)'s and \(1\)'s such that \(Ax:=( \sum_{k=1}^{\infty} a_{nk}x_{k})_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\) converges to \(\alpha\). The main theorem (Theorem 2.2) shows, that (P) holds if (a) \(\lim_{n}\sup_{k}| a_{nk}| =0\) and (b) for every \(n,\) there exists \(k^{\ast } (n)\in\mathbb{N}\) such that \(a_{nk}\leq a_{n,k+1\text{ }}\)for \(k<k^{\ast}(n) \), and \(a_{nk}\geq a_{n,k+1\text{ }}\)for \(k\geq k^{\ast}(n) \) (i.e. \(A\) is a one-hump matrix). From this follows that the Cesàro methods \(C_{\alpha}\) \((\alpha >0) \), the Euler-Knopp methods \(E_{r}\) \((0<r<1)\), the Taylor methods \(T_{r}\) \((0<r<1) \), the Meyer-König methods \(S_{r}\) \(( 0<r<1) \), the Abel methods and the Borel methods all have the property (P).
