Let \(\{ x_n : n\in Z\}\) be an irregular sampling set such that \(\delta:=\sup_{n\in Z} (x_{n+1}-x_n)<1\). In the Voronoi method for constructing the original function \(f\) in the Paley-Wiener space \(B_{[-\pi, \pi]}\) from its samples \(\{ f(x_n) : n\in Z\}\), the reconstruction functions \(\chi_n\) are characteristic functions of some intervals and therefore are not continuous, which affect the convergence rate of the algorithm in Voronoi method. In this paper, the Voronoi method has been improved by replacing the characteristic functions \(\chi_n\) with some suitable smooth Bell functions \(b_n\). When the sampling set is denser, using analog to splines as the reconstruction functions \(\varphi_n(f)\), the authors can also improve the convergence rate from \(\| f-f_k\| _{L_2}=O(\delta^k)\) to \(\| f-f_k\| _{L_2}=O(\delta ^{mk})\) provided that \(\delta <1/m\) for some positive integer \(m\).
