The authors establish the universality for the automorphic \(L\)-function \(L(s,F)\) where \(F=\text{sym}^mf\) or \(F=\text{sym}^mf\times \text{sym}^mf\). Here \(f\) is a holomorphic primitive form of even weight for the full modular group and \(m=1,2,3,4\). Define \(\sigma_F= 1- (m+1)^{-1}\) or \(1- (m+1)^{-2}\) respectively for the two cases. Let \(K\) be any connected compact set inside the vertical strip \(\sigma_F<\text{Re}\, s<1\) of the complex plane. Their main result is \[ \liminf_{T\to \infty} T^{-1} \text{meas}\big\{ t\in [0,T]: \;\sup_{s\in K} |L(s+it, F) -\varphi(s)|< \varepsilon \big\} >0,\qquad \forall \;\varepsilon >0 \] where \(\varphi\) is any nonvanishing function analytic in the interior of \(K\) and continuous on the boundary. Readers may also look up the book ``Value distribution of \(L\)-functions'' by \textit{J. Steuding} [Lecture Notes in Mathematics 1877. Berlin: Springer (2007; Zbl 1130.11044)] for the case of more general \(L\)-functions.
