    Let the operator \(J\) be defined on \(\ell^{2} (\mathbb{N})\) by \[ (J x)_{n} = a_{n - 1} x_{n - 1} + b_{n} x_{n} + a_{n}x_{n + 1}, \quad x = (x_{n}) \in \ell^{2} (\mathbb{N}), \;\;a_{0} x_{0} := 1, \] where \(a_{n} > 0, \) \(b_{n} \in \mathbb{R}\) \((n = 1,2,\dots)\). Let \[ \lambda_{n} := -\sum_{k = n + 1}^{\infty} b_{k}, \;\;k_{n} := - \sum_{k = n + 1}^{\infty} (a_{k}^{2} - 1), \quad n = 0,1,\dots, \] and let \(d \nu\) be the spectral measure for the pair \((J,\delta_{1})\), where \(\delta_{1} = (1,0,0,\dots)\). Here, \(d \nu\) is assumed to be a nontrivial measure, that means it is not supported on a finite set of points. Let \(\widehat{U}\) denote either of the sets \(\ell_{1}^{2} \cap \ell^{1}\) or \(\ell_{s}^{1}\) with \(s \geq 1\) and \(U\) be the set of all complex-valued functions on the circle \(\partial \mathbb{D}\) whose Fourier coefficients lie in \(\widehat{U}\). It is said that \(d\nu\in\Upsilon\) if (1) \(J\) has finitely many eigenvalues and they all lie in \(\mathbb{R} \backslash [2,2]\); (2) \(d\nu\) is absolutely continuous on \([-2,2]\) and \(d\nu = (\sqrt{2 + x})^{l} (\sqrt{2 - x})^{r} v_{0} (x)\,dx\), where \(l,r \in \{\pm 1\}\) and \(\log v_{0} \in U\). The author proves that \(d\nu\in\Upsilon\) if and only if the sequences \(\lambda=(\lambda_{n})\) and \(k=(k_{n})\) associated to \(J\) belong to \(\widehat{U}\).
