For \(P_1,\ldots,P_s\) points on a curve, the definition of the Weierstrass semigroup \(H=H(P_1,\ldots,P_s)\) at these points is closely related to the canonical divisor of the curve. In this paper, the author extends the definition of \(H\) to any linear system \(\Gamma\) [cf. \textit{C. Carvalho} and \textit{F. Torres}, Des. Codes Cryptogr. 35 (2), 211--225 (2005; Zbl 1070.94029)]. Let \(G:={\mathbb N}_{0}^n\setminus H\). In the case \(s=1\), \(\ell\in G\) if and only if there is a divisor \(D\in \mu\) such that \(v_P(D)=\ell-1\). The main result in this paper is the computation of a sharp lower bound on \(\# G\) which depends of \(n\) and the dimension of \(\Gamma\) only. If the characteristic of the base field is 0 or \(p>2g-2\), there is a Zariski open set in \(X^n\) where the lower bound holds true; otherwise, this property is not known.
