The author investigates the invariants of symplectic representations of a complex connected reductive group. The author constructs particular invariants using the invariant moment map. These invariants form a polynomial algebra and the invariant moment map is equidimensional. Then the categorical quotient turns out to be a fibration over an affine space with rational generic fibers. The case where the construction provides ``almost all'' the invariants (when the fibers of the previous fibration are points), is of special interest. In this case, these representations are called multiplicity free and the author proves that they are cofree. The main tool is a symplectic version of the local structure theorem.
