This paper is devoted to point symmetries and invariant solutions of the equation \(u_{tt}=u_{xx}+(\cot x)u_x +u_{xx}/\sin^2x\). The algebra of all point symmetries of this equation is calculated. Its subalgebras up to conjugacy are obtained. Reductions of the equation corresponding to these subalgebras are founded. Some examples of exact invariant solutions are given.
