    Consider the boundary value problem \[ \begin{gathered} -x''(t)= f(t,x(t),\;x(\alpha(t)))\quad\text{for }t\in J',\\ \Delta x(t_k)= P_k(x(t_k)),\quad k= 1,2,\dots, m,\\ \Delta x'(t_k)= Q_k(x(t_k)),\quad k= 1,2,\dots, m,\\ 0= g(x(0), x(T)),\\ x'(0)= x'(T),\end{gathered}\tag{\(*\)} \] where \(J':= J\setminus\{t_1,t_2,\dots, t_m\}\), \(J= (0,T)\), \(\Delta x(t_k)= x(t^+_k)- x(t^-_k)\), \(\Delta x'(t_k)= x'(t^+_k)- x'(t^-_k)\). The author applies the monotone iterative method combined with lower and upper solutions to establish the existence of a solution to \((*)\).
