A mixed finite element method for a fourth-order nonlinear elliptic problem is developed. Optimal error estimates are proved by using an interpolation operator. Finally two iterative schemes are presented, and proved to keep the same optimal error estimates. Numerical examples are also provided in order to support the theoretical results.
