Based on the study of the minimization problem \(\min[d(0, F(x))]\) in conjunction with the inclusion problem \(F(x) =0\), where \(x\) belongs to a closed subset \(A\) of a Banach space \(X\) and \(F\) is a mapping from \(X\) to another Banach space \(Y\), the authors present several results applicable to possibly nonconvex sets in Banach spaces. Some of them are approximate projection results, an extended extremal principle, a nonconvex separation theorem, a generalized Bishop-Phelps theorem and a separable point result. The classical separation Dieudonne result has been extended to a nonconvex setting.
