The paper deals with mutual relations between the continuity of the fuzzy IF-THEN rules system and solvability of a corresponding system of fuzzy relation equations. The main attention is focused on the problem of solvability of such a system of fuzzy relations. The problem is analyzed, and several new easy-to-check necessary or sufficient conditions for solvability in the case of special fuzzy sets are derived. The main results consider new necessary, sufficient, and also necessary and sufficient conditions, for the solvability in the general case. An example of IF-THEN rules leading to a non-solvable system of fuzzy relations is presented, as well.
