A new definition of fuzzy compactness is presented for \(L\)-topological spaces when \(L\) is a complete DeMorgan algebra. Basic properties of this notion of compactness are studied. In particular, if the set of all prime elements of \(L\) is order generating, then the Alexander Subbase Theorem holds. And it is shown that when \(L\) is a completely distributive DeMorgan algebra, this notion of fuzzy compactness is equivalent to that of Lowen.
