The author refers to the existence of a solution to the Euler Lagrange equation for a minimum problem depending on the gradient studied by \textit{A. Cellina} and \textit{S. Perrotta} in [SIAM J. Control Optimization 36, 1987--1998 (1998; Zbl 0926.49014)]. The main result of the paper is obtained by using similar methods as in the mentioned article and states that any solution of the Euler-Lagrange equation is absolutely continuous on almost every segment \(x+td(x)\) and as a function of \(x+td(x)\) satisfies an ODE of a special form. An application to the Bertone-Cellina conjecture is shown and some open problems are mentioned.
