The author proves that the affine monomial curve \(C=(t^{17},t^{19}, t^{25},t^{27})\subset K^4\) is a set-theoretic complete intersection if \(K\) is an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. This example is special in the sense that \(C\) cannot be defined by three polynomial equations two of which are binomial [see the author's paper J. Algebra 299, No. 2, 689--706 (2006; Zbl 1106.14036)], hence the criterion of \textit{A. Thoma} [Arch. Math. 74, No. 1, 22--25 (2000; Zbl 1033.14014)] is not applicable.
