The paper provides a \(\mathcal{D}\)-modules interpretation of the cohomology and Poincaré polynomial of a complement to a complex hyperplane arrangement. This nicely enhances the multitude of properties the Orlik-Solomon algebra enjoys. The results are related to those of \textit{M. Brion} and \textit{M. Vergne} [Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 32, No.~5, 715--741 (1999; Zbl 0945.32003)] and \textit{H. Horiuchi} and \textit{H. Terao} [J. Algebra 266, 169--179 (2003; Zbl 1084.13501)]. Let \(D_n=\mathcal{C}\langle x_1,\dots, x_n, \partial/\partial x_1,\dots,\partial/\partial x_n\rangle\) be the Weyl algebra of rank \(n\) over \(\mathbb C\). The author associates to \(\mathcal{A}\), a rank \(r\) central arrangement of hyperplanes in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), a new sequence of \(D_n\)-modules \(\mathcal{C}[x_1,\dots, x_n]=P_0\subset P_1\subset\dots\subset P_r=P\), filtering the algebra \(P=P(\mathcal{A})\) of rational functions on the complement \(Y_{\mathcal{A}}\) of the arrangement. Using these modules, cochain complexes are defined and are shown to compute the de Rham cohomology of \(Y_{\mathcal{A}}\). A formula for the Poincaré series of \(P(\mathcal{A})\) easily follows.
