The paper is concerned with the following problem: given a \(C^{r}\) map of \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) with a parabolic fixed point, do there exist one-dimensional invariant manifolds passing through the fixed point? It is assumed that the fixed point is at the origin and that the linearization of the map at the origin is the identity map. To prove the existence of one-dimensional submanifolds of the center manifold associated with the fixed point and to study their properties, the authors use the parametrization method whose essence is to study simultaneously an embedding \(K:I_{0} \to\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) and a map \(R:I_{0}\to\mathbb{R}\) such that \(F\circ K=K\circ R,\) where \(I_{0}\subset\mathbb{R},\) \(K\) is a parametrization of a curve, and \(R\) is a representation of the dynamics on the curve. The existence of solutions to a functional equation for the parametrization and the dynamics is proved by using the Banach contraction principle in the appropriately selected Banach space of the functions that vanish at the origin along with their derivatives. It is also demonstrated that the parametrization method is well suited for numerical implementations. Comparison with other algorithms is performed.
