It is known that the classical Riesz--Raikov theorem states that, for any integer \(\theta>1\) and for any \(f\) of \(L^1(\mathbb{T})\), where \(\mathbb{T}=\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z}\), the averages \(\frac 1N\sum^N_1f(\theta^nx)\) converge to \(\int_\Gamma f(t)\,dt\) for almost every \(x\in\mathbb{R}\). The aim of the present paper is to study the aforementioned theorem for any endomorphism \(\varphi\) of \(\mathbb{R}^p\) which is algebraic on \(Q\). In particular, following and adapting \textit{J.\,Bourgain}'s arguments [Isr.\ Math.\ Conf.\ Proc.\ 3, 1--45 (1990; Zbl 0729.11039)], the author manages to prove that, for any endomorphism \(\varphi\) of \(\mathbb{R}^p\) algebraic on \(Q\) whose proper values all have modulus \(>1\) and for any \(f\in L^2(\mathbb{T}^p)\), the averages \(\frac 1N\sum^N_1 f(\varphi^n x)\) converge to \(\int_{\Gamma^p}f(t)\,dt\) for almost every point \(x\in\mathbb{R}^p\).
