The Klein-Gordon-Zakharov equation is analyzed. The authors first present an implicit conservative finite difference scheme for the initial-boundary problem corresponding to the one dimensional equation, and they prove the existence of the difference solution by using the Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem. They also prove uniqueness, convergence and stability for the same problem under suitable conditions. Finally, the authors study an explicit difference scheme for the Klein-Gordon-Zakharov equation, and they present numerical experiments to show that the two schemes are accurate and efficient.
