The concept of stability for a functional equation arises when one replaces a functional equation by an inequality, which acts as a perturbation of the equation. In the 1940, S. M. Ulam posed the first stability problem. In the following year, \textit{D. H. Hyers} [Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 27, 222--224 (1941; Zbl 0061.26403)] gave a partial affirmative answer to the question of Ulam. Let \(0<p<1\) be a fixed real number. A function \(f:I\to \mathbb{R}\) is \(p\)-Wright affine provided \[ f(px+(1-p)y)+f((1-p)x+y)= f(x)+f(y)~(x,y \in I) \tag{1} \] \textit{A. Najati} and \textit{C. Park} [J. Inequal. Appl. 2009, Article ID 595439, 12 p. (2009; Zbl 1187.39046)] proved some results on the stability of the functional equation (1) for \(p=\frac{1}{3}\), and applied them in the investigation of the generalized \((\sigma-\tau)\)-Jordan derivations on Banach algebras. In the present paper, the author proves some results concerning the Hyers-Ulam stability and the superstability of the functional equation (1) for \(p\in \mathbb{F}\in\{\mathbb{C}, \mathbb{R}\}\) provided \(|p|^k+|1-p|^k<1\), where \(k\in(0,\infty)\).
