The author provides a lower bound for the canonical height of a point \(P\) in a CM abelian variety \(A/K\) in terms of the degree of the field generated by \(P\) over \(K(A_{\text{tors}})\). This bound is a generalization of results by David, Hindry, Baker, Silverman, Ratazzi and others and is the best known result on the way of proving the relative abelian Lehmer conjecture. Moreover, the given bound allows to prove some particular cases of the Zilber-Pink conjecture, as follows. Theorem. Let \(A\) be an abelian variety defined over a number field \(K\). Suppose that \(A_ {\overline{K}}\) has many complex multiplications. Let \(C\) be a curve in \(A\) which is not contained in a proper closed algebraic subgroup of \(A\). Then the set \(C(K)\cap \cup_ {\text{codim}\, G>1}G(K)\) is finite, where \(G\) denotes a closed algebraic subgroup of \(A\).
