Let \(G\) and \(A\) be finite groups. Suppose that \(|A|\) and \(|G|\) are relatively prime and \(A\) acts on \(G\) by automorphisms, and let \(\pi(G,A)\) be the well-known Glauberman-Isaacs correspondence from the set \(\text{Irr}_A(G)\) of \(A\)-invariant irreducible characters of \(G\) to the set \(\text{Irr}(C_G(A))\) of irreducible characters of \(C_G(A)\). Let \(B\leq A\). Extending earlier work of several people, the authors obtain new conditions on \(C_G(A)\) and \(C_G(B)\) which guarantee that \(\chi\pi(G,A)\) is an irreducible constituent of the restriction \(\chi\pi(G,B)_{C_G(A)}\) of \(\chi\pi(G,B)\) to \(C_G(A)\). For example, when \(G\) is solvable, they show that this is the case under any of the following conditions: (a) \(|C_G(B)|\) is odd, (b) \(C_G(B)\) is supersolvable and \(G'\) is nilpotent, or (c) \(C_G(B)\) is supersolvable and \(C_G(A)\) is Abelian.
