    The following boundary value problem on the half-line \[ \begin{cases} \frac{1}{p(t)}(p(t)x'(t))' + q(t)f(t,x(t),p(t)x'(t)), \quad 0<t<\infty, \\ x(0) = \alpha x(\eta), \quad \lim_{t\to\infty} p(t)x'(t) = b \geq 0 \end{cases} \] is considered, where \(0 \leq \alpha <1\), \(\eta>0\), \(p \in C[0,\infty) \cap C^1(0,1)\), \(p(t)>0\) on \([0,\infty)\), \(q \in C(0,\infty)\), \(q(t)>0\) on \((0,\infty)\), and \(f\) is a given function. Existence results of solutions are obtained by using the technique of upper and lower solutions and the theory of fixed point index in a cone.
